Agenda / A few highlights
MaNEP-Geneva at the « Cafés scientifiques » for college students
March 9 and April 6, 2006

MaNEP goes (back) to college ! Since 2005, the University of Geneva has organized encounters between researchers and classes of young college students to discuss all kinds of scientific issues during one and a half hour.

Some teachers having specifically requested to present superconductivity to their students, MaNEP has of course accepted this opportunity to introduce an aspect of condensed matter physics to young people.

The levitating train demo will be showed and two Geneva professors - Dirk van der Marel and Thierry Giamarchi— have kindly accepted to play the game and answer the students ‘s questions during these 2 sessions.

Maybe the first ones of a series ?

We shall of course let you know more about this experience in a future issue of this E-Newsletter.
