 Petra Häfliger, a PhD student of Prof. Albert Furrer at PSI successfully passed her thesis examination on February 9, 2006 at ETHZ. The title of her work - |
supported byMaNEP in Phase 1 - was Neutron Scattering Study of Complex Magnetic Properties of Strongly Correlated Electron Systems. She also has a publication out this month in Europhysics Letters. |
She will now pursue her work within the group of Prof. Hugo Keller (University of Zurich). Congratulations Petra and all the best for the future ! |
PhD thesis rewarded / Christian Rüegg gets the ETHZ medal |

 Last month we mentioned that Christian Ruëgg - a former PhD student of Prof. Albert Furrer at LNS/ETHZ and PSI - had received the 2005 ABB Prize for General Physics at the last annual SPS meeting. |
We learned that he also received the ETHZ Medal for excellency for his PhD thesis. The ceremony was held at ETHZ on January 27. Christian is now making a post doc at the London University College. Congratulations again ! |
