This winter school is open to all PhD students and post-docs working in research and development of new materials with novel electronic properties. Priority will be given to students working within an institution related to MaNEP, but participants from other institutions (Swiss or foreign countries) will be gladly accepted if there is available place.

Format

The registration will be open on Sunday January 11th from 4 pm until 7am. Sunday evening, a dinner will be served for all the participitants. The school will start on Monday 12th and end on Friday 16th at 2 pm.

Location

This school will be held at Saas Fee, a beautiful village located at 1800 meters in Valais and surrounded by a fantastic chain of mountains culminating above 4000 meters. This village has the particularity of having no car traffic. A large parking is available at the entry of the village, but the daily price is such that we strongly recommend that the participants use public transportation. The easiest way to reach Saas-Fee is to take the train to Visp or Brig and then to catch a postal bus to Saas Fee in front of the Visp or Brig train station. Accommodation

The participants will be hosted either at the hotel ALLALIN or in several two-bedroom apartments close to the hotel. The school will be held at the Congress Centre Steinmatte. To contact the hotel :

Ski day

A ski day will be organized on Wednesday in the Saas Fee ski resort. The daily pass will be offered by MaNEP to all participants, but no equipment will be provided. Please be aware that the ski domain is around 3500 meters and the temperature can be icy in january. Non-skiers will have the opportunity to take the Métro Alpin and have a break in the world's highest rotating restaurant.

Registration fee

For all the participant, the registration fee is CHF 650. It includes : school registration, hotel and full board from the evening dinner on Sunday 11th up to the lunch on Friday 16th.

For MaNEP member :
When your group leader will have acknowledged your registration, a confirmation will be sent to you, and the registration fee of CHF 650.- will be charged directly to him.

For non-MaNEP member :
Once the registration has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation .
