2nd MaNEP Summer School
Probing the physics of low dimensional Systems
11-16 September 2006, Saas Fee
The purpose of the summer school is to train young scientists in the physics of low dimensional systems with a series of lectures illustrating how their unconventional behavior can be explored using different experimental approaches. After a general introduction reviewing basic aspects and unsolved problems of the field, several courses, given by recognized specialists, will discuss in detail the present understanding of low dimensional materials as it emerges from investigations probing their electronic and structural properties with a variety of experimental tools. A specific knowledge of the field is not required, however a basic training in solid state physics is essential.

The courses will be given in English.
