DIRECTIVES

The 2007 Swiss Workshop on Materials with Novel Electronic Properties is the seventh edition of a series of Swiss Workshops on Superconductivity and Novel Metals which were held since 1996. The meeting will bring together researchers working in Switzerland in the field of Materials with Novel Electronic Properties. The workshop is to act as a forum promoting research and applications in this area.

The program will be designed along the following themes :

Strongly interacting electrons, low dimensional and quantum fluctuation dominated systems
Superconductivity, unconventional mechanisms and novel materials
Crystal growth
Novel materials
Thin films and artificial materials
Applied superconductivity
Sensors and novel devices

This workshop is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation
through the NCCR MaNEP

Workshop format

The meeting will start on Friday September 28 at 11 AM and end on Sunday September 30 in the afternoon. The program will consist of tutorials, invited and contributed presentations, and posters. The contributed oral presentations will be selected on the basis of the submitted abstracts.

The posters will be an important part of the program. The poster sessions will be divided in two parts in order to favour contacts and informal discussions among participants. 1 minute oral poster presentations are planned.
A commercial exhibit will take place on Monday and Tuesday.

Participants

The workshop is open to all scientists, engineers and students working in Switzerland on the topics listed above. It shall provide in particular an opportunity to meet for those who are involved in the National Centre of Competence in Research "Materials with Novel Electronic Properties" (MaNEP).

Abstracts

A booklet of abstracts will be distributed to each participant before the conference. No proceedings will be published.
To submit your abstract, use this web site :

Some post deadline communications on recent and particularly relevant results will be accepted as long as they can be accommodated to the program.
